MCBC WEEKLY Ride Groups  (Times for these rides are subject to change) 

The Melon City Bike Club has many different riding groups...there is surely one that will fit your liking and skill level.  To make it easier to select, rides are color coded by typical ride style and average speeds.  

Leisure (10-12 MPH)   Great for beginners, kids, seniors.  Or anyone looking for fun.

Relaxed Pace (12-15 MPH)   Great RAGBRAI training rides. An average rider's pace.    

Racing Mode (18-25 MPH)      High energy level ride.  Stay the heck out of their way!!

MONDAY NIGHT (Brew Burger) RIDE
WHERE: Muscatine Riverfront (by big clock at Iowa Ave. crossing)
WHEN: 6 pm, Spring/Summer/Fall   (sometimes earlier depending on daylight available)
WHAT: Relaxed pace group fitness/social ride, 15-25 miles @ 12-15mph, & then relax and enjoy some Brew Burgers at Missipi Brew.  Usually an out and back on same route.

MELONHEAD EVENING RIDES (Monday & Wednesday nights, Saturdays)
WHERE: The MISSIPI Brewing Company (look for Melon Jerseys)
WHEN: 6pm, Spring/Summer/Fall in most any weather (first Monday after daylight savings time change)
WHAT: Fun motivated riding group.  Will usually ride to Fruitland (Mad Marv's) and back.  15-30 miles @ 12-15 mph, & then food and beer at the Missipi Brew.  When days are longer, will begin to ride to Atalissa and back (31 miles).    The use of head and tail lights is highly recommended!  Also ride on Saturdays

TUESDAY NIGHT PEDAL & PIZZA RIDE 
WHERE: Muscatine Riverfront
WHEN: 6pm, Mid-Spring/Summer
WHAT: This is a really relaxed pace group social ride, 10-12 miles, often on trail.  Return and enjoying pizza at local eatery.  An excellent group for beginning riders.  Very patience and friendly ride leaders.

TUESDAY NIGHT RACE TRAINING RIDE
WHERE: Harper's Cycling and Fitness
WHEN: 6pm, Spring/Summer/Fall (meets @5:00pm early Spring and late Fall)
WHAT: Advanced level race simulation ride, 25-40 miles @ 20-25mph Ave.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNER RIDE (BI-WEEKLY)
WHERE: Harper's Cycling and Fitness or other locations as will be announced.
WHEN: 1st & 3rd. Wednesdays, 6pm, Late spring & summer (meets @5:30pm for longer rides TBA)
WHAT: Relaxed ride to various eateries outside Muscatine.  Bring money!    15-25 miles @ 12--15 mph.  Eat and return to Muscatine via sag wagons.  Call Harper's (
263-4043), by 2PM, so sufficient sag wagons can be arranged for your return.

WHERE: Harper's Cycling and Fitness
WHEN: 6pm, Spring/Summer
WHAT: High Tempo Fitness Pace Line Ride, 25-40 miles @ 18-22mph Ave.

WHERE: Harper's Cycling and Fitness
WHEN: 5-7PM, December through February
WHAT: 2 Mile Indoor Roller Time Trial Races

WHERE: Pearl City Station
WHEN: 1pm, All year round (weather permitting).  
WHAT: Pace and distance determined by group that shows up.
